On 19 November 2025, we had the great pleasure of participating in the Meeting with Science organised by the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Primary School No. 2 in Plewiska. Julia Grabarkiewicz, a laboratory technician, and Wiktor Misztal, Brand Promotion Manager, prepared a unique laboratory demonstration for the students, presenting the properties of polyurethanes and the work of the quality control department.

The magic of polyurethane – experiments that amazed

During the presentation, the students could see what fascinating and versatile a material polyurethane is.

During the show, we explained:

  • why polyurethane foam grows and takes on a characteristic ‘mushroom’ shape,
  • what makes polyurethane elastomer resemble stretchy toffee when mixed,
  • how the chemical reactions leading to the formation of foams, elastomers and adhesives take place
  • why the work of a laboratory technician requires great precision and care.

The children were not only able to observe the experiments, but also actively participated in them — they performed simple experiments on their own, under the watchful eye of our laboratory technician. This opportunity caused a lot of excitement and stimulated natural curiosity.

The meeting was attended by students from grades 1 to 8 and their parents, who followed each stage with interest — from the preparation of the mixture to the impressive growth of the foam.

Thank you for the invitation

We are delighted to have been able to introduce the young participants to the world of chemistry and modern materials.

We would like to thank the principal of Primary School No. 2 in Plewiska for the invitation and warm welcome.

We are proud that our presentation attracted so much interest, and we hope that it will be a little spark that will kindle a love of chemistry, and encouragement to continue exploring the sciences.
